Ok, I've finished the modeling for the Squirrel, now it just needs rigged and "furred". I still don't think the feet and "hands" look exactly right, but they're the best I can get them right now. I'm getting really crunched for time.
No panicking. Just keep on-target. If you are still not happy with your feet and hands, find photos and adjust the topology 1 2 3 4 Begin laying out the UVs (don’t worry about the details. Just barrel ahead with the map and worry about the details after you get the overall layout). If you can get the map layout for next week, that would be great! Also, talk to Joseph about AutoRig.
I'm glad you stuck with the project even though its a pain to find references. I suggest just going to the pet store like charlotte said and just you a rats feet and hands because they're practically the same anyway and whos going to really tell. But its just a suggestion and by the way the model looks great:)
hey, here's two more hands and feet http://fc08.deviantart.com/fs29/f/2008/122/c/c/Claws_of_Nut_by_the_tree_next_to_me.jpg
http://www.gutpilestyle.com/images/carry/carry5.jpg this one looks alot like the one charlotte found. like charlotte said UV's are next, i used Modo to layout my UV's, there's tons of information as to how to use their UV unwrap tool and UV relax, but if you're uncomfortable with Modo do a lot of cylindrical mapping with Maya would be my best suggestion. also don't stitch him together yet, layout the uv's for half of him, then duplicate him, flip both the geometry and the UV's horizontally then stitch together, you'll sav yourself alot of time by doing half the work. i can't wait to see what this guys looks like with fur.

yea it looks good and i agree with u about the feet. im not a doctor but they just look too long. Do what u can and peace be with you.
dido with everyone else's comment
The legs to me seem a little too long (the back ones). I think the back feet seem a bit to long and the toes to don't look right.
